This is a half software and half hardware question. :)

Im trying to have A/V IN into a Mac for use with Quicktime Broadcaster.

A few solutions seem to fit the bill but im wondering if any cheaper options are avaliable or more avaliable.

Option 1.) a DV camcoder that has firewire and has AV inputs, I can find ones with firewire but no AV IN and they are around $600.
Option 2.) AlchemyTV PCI cards not avaliable in australia apart from Mac Mall which charge around $400.

Im not looking for HD so just needs to be something that works :)

Lots of cameras use a minijack plug with splitter cable for AV-out - in most cases this jack also doubles as the AV-in as well. The same is also true for svideo outputs on many cameras too.
