What's with the sorry state of open source projects on OSX? :(
I've been trying to find a decent ftp client for about a week now without much luck.

I'm not interested in shareware no matter how great it is.

There are heaps of open source projects on OS X.

Have you tried using fink (http://fink.sourceforge.net/)?

Also if you want an open source ftp client try Cyberduck (http://cyberduck.ch/).

Here is a quick article about some of the open source projects on Mac OS X; http://software.newsforge.com/article.pl?s...166254&from=rss (http://software.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=05/09/20/166254&from=rss)

eidt: For sftp I personally use Fugu (http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/) although I think it will only work for sftp and not ftp.

Anything wrong with the command line client built in? Or do you need a GUI?

One Button (http://www.onebutton.org/) is another option, although I personally use Cyberduck.

Thanks alot guys :)
I Googled quite a bit but couldn't come up with much. I think "free" is a dirty word these days. Including it in a search string returns half the intarweb.

I do quite like unix ftp but I find it a bit clunky to drive when I'm doing more than quickly grabbing a few files.
