Hi guys,
Just had another quick question about the mac.

I recently discovered that if you click on the little unlabeled oblong button in the top right hand corner of a finder window, it hides the sidebar and toolbar, which is a layout that I quite like.
Looks nice and neat and compact.

What I don't like about it, is when browsing to a new folder, the folder opens in a new window.
I've gone into the Finder preferences, and "Always open folders in new window" is disabled, but folders still open in a new window while the sidebar & toolbar are hidden. Aaargh!
Anyone know a workaround to disable the new windows. Because I love the compact look but find myself having to close numerous windows when browsing my computer.

Cheers
Kev:D

command + 3 in Finder.

Or from the View menu.

Yeah I like using column view sometimes, but I dont like not being able to sort files.
I like sorting by date so my most recent files are listed first
