My 13" 2 year old macbook is too slow, I do a lot with Aperture3 which needs more grunt.

I'm looking at MBP 15", with the faster specs.

My question is about whether to use the migration tool to transfer everything over (I have about 200gb of apps and data).

Or....the slow way, to reinstalled everything bit at a time.

With the second option I am concerned that junk and problems may be transferred to the fresh MBP.

Also, if I have a fresh copy of iTunes then syncing iPhone4 with it may be a problem, I believe the sync only works to and not from iPhone.

You opinions are valued, thank you.

copy the whole itunes library from one to the other... it won't know the difference.... this is only really best if you had the option to let itunes copy the songs into the library, unless you know exactly where all your songs are etc... same goes for iphoto, just copy the library from one to the other.

as for your first query, i would do it all from scratch, nothing like a fresh new computer
