Since upgrading from Panther to Tiger I can't get to work Norton Privacy Control. I have 2 children who regularly surf the web and I want them not to stumble across any inappropriate web sites.

I realised after I upgraded that some of the Norton products are still not compatible with Tiger. Whilst I do not want to get into a discussion of the merits of the Norton Products. I really want to have some software that can filter websites.

Are there anuy alternatives out there that are compatible with Safari and hopefully are free??

Thanks

It's built into the OS, you don't need any software.

Just create a user account for your kids, then go into the Parental Controls tab and tick Safari. They'll only be able to visit sites in their bookmarks (which you can add to).

Personally, I believe that the computer should be in a public area of the house where parents can supervise kids instead of relying on software. This talk regarding child safety on the net is excellent: http://www.itconversations.com/shows/detail488.html
