View Full Version : Washed-out powerbook screen

My pBook (specs in signature) develops a wierd problem when I fast-user-switch from my gaming user back to my admin user. Following the switch, the screen seems to be a lot brighter with less definition of different colours than previously. It is hard to explain, but it is like the balance of brightness is out of wack, and the extra light washes out the screen making it harder to use. :/

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Maybe your kitty accidentally pressed the right key combination turned up the contrast on the admin user account?!

I'd check that each account has the same coloursync profile. It's under displays:colour in the system preferences.

I may well have found the problem. Anyone know what to do?

This is a well-documented bug in Tiger that Apple conveniently fails to recognise. Happened to me too. There's a band-aid fix here. (http://www.betalogue.com/?p=1533)

Ahhh awesome. :) Thanks for that link: it fixes it. And as the blogger comments, it is a major Tiger flaw which Apple really needs to fix.
