View Full Version : Have I been exploited? How would I know?

I delayed updating to 4.0.2 for no reason whatsoever.

Today I was connected via my home wifi browsing, when all of a sudden I was prompted to input my wifi password to connect. My connection is usually around 2-3 bars so the signal isn't weak and I've never had my connection drop out before.

Why would this happen out of the blue like this?

I've now got off my butt and completed the update. If something had have happened, would the update have trashed it?

Or am I just being paranoid?

Maybe I'm missing something... but I don't understand what you're trying to say in your post at all.

I've had that happen but with my iTunes account randomly. I would just be sitting there on the home screen and it would prompt me to enter my password. Never happened to me with Wi-Fi networks though.

The exploit allows some to gain access to phone / network doesn't it?
Is it possible this has happened to me? Trying undertand why my wifi would all of a sudden prompt for it's password. Am I just getting 5 from 2 plus 2?

4.0.2 only fixed a PDF exploit (I think) so I wouldn't worry too much if you weren't viewing a PDF at the time.
Sorry I can't give you a better/more informative answer.
