My old G3 was collecting dust in the spare room having been thoroughly superceded by the other Macs in my life so I thought it might be time to set it up as a file server.

Using my Panther CDs I did a minimal install of 10.3 and set up an admin account and user accounts for my girlfriend and me. But how to control it...?

After a quick search I came upon this (http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2004/12/07/homemade_mac.html) article. Normally when I try these things it doesn't work but my luck must be in because *presto* t works spledidly. Not that exciting, but I love to share!

Thanks for this Atomac. I have tried to get VNC working in the past, but failed for some weird reason and started using apple remote desktop, which is good, but I like VNC too. I use it to log into the Windows (soon to be linux) server at work from my mac.

I notice that they talk about Chicken of the VNC. I had major problems with this, but found VNC viewer to be perfect
