I really want to get a iPhone 4 but I have one issue in mind that might make me skip it, the Death Grip and dropping calls because of it.

I'm on Optus now and it's my first choice of carrier. I noticed the iPhone's in the Apple store are on Optus with a full 5 bar connection and I couldn't get them to drop a single bar, but I don't know if it's a real signal they are getting. Anyone have any problems on Optus?

But I'm also thinking of maybe switching to Telstra for the iPhone 4, how does Telstra do with the Death Grip? AT&T and Telstra use the same frequency so that makes me wonder if the iPhone 4 will be crapy on Telstra just like on AT&T.

Thanks in advance.

It depends where you are. In the Apple Store they have Optus cells somewhere out back providing service to the display phones, they're not running off the real network.

Missus is still on Optus until end of the year while my contract has ended and I've switched to Telstra. She wants to switch to Telstra when her contract is up since Optus is next to useless where we frequent.

We are usually in Ryde & North Ryde area plus UTS and the Rocks.
