View Full Version : Best Laptop Bag for 15inch Macbook Pro?

24th July 2010, 01:08 AM
Good morning fellow mac lovers. I just received my shiny new macbook pro in the mail today and am looking to purchase a laptop bag or laptop backpack to carry it in while I commute to and fro on my bike.

I want style, I want function and I want to be comfortable. Isnt this what everyone wants?

I have thought about and read some blogs on this laptop backpack (http://www.codidirect.com/laptop-bags-laptop-cases/checkpoint-friendly/ct3checkpoint-testedtri-pak.html) from Codi. Which bags do you use and which ones have you heard good things about?

Thanks for the advice!

thats awesome

I like incase and crumpler... however it's a highly personal choice as you'll be using the bag yourself, not a forum member.

Go to Rushfaster.com.au - Laptop Bags, iPhone + iPad Cases, Notebook Bags, Wallets & Bags - Incase, Mandarina Duck, Lacoste, Booq, Gravis, The North Face in Australia (http://www.rushfaster.com.au) and see if there is anything you like there. If so, buy it =)

My personal favourites depend on what I do and where I use it:

I like the Kata GDC R-103 because of the space for camera gear and laptop (and it's very well made).

The Wenger Swissgear Potomac is only OK. It's a rollerbag but quite big and doesn't have much space in it (unless you're only carrying documents and folders). The handles and wheels make it a bit heavy for many airlines who have carry-on weight limits.

Probably my favourite plain laptop bag is from Brenthaven. Had it for years and I keep going back to it for travel and all-round needs. It's very well made and expands to massive dimensions if needed (which are still within all airline carry-on restrictions I've come across). And it came with a slim laptop "case" within the bag but I don't use that. I often put 2 laptops in it and still have space for overnight clothes and camera gear!!

i have the old version of the king single (http://www.crumpler.com/AU/Laptop-Bags/Laptop-Backpacks/King-Single.html?LanguageCode=EN&SKU=KS10A) and recently bought an incase nylon backpack (http://store.apple.com/au/product/TW219PA/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY). personally, i prefer the incase since it has way more pockets...

If you cycle you can't go past the Crumpler messenger bags. The third leg strap makes it so secure. Tough too.

I use the SLAPPA Ballistix AURA Silver/Orange Laptop Shoulder Bag along with the Ballistix AURA Silver/Orange Laptop Sleeve for I carry my work HP and my personal MacBook Pro. I am able to carry all the cables, power supplies, multiple mice and other gear. Has worked great and looking at purchasing a M.A.S.K. Backpack as well.

Either a Crumpler (say The Considerable Embarrassment, designed to fit at 15" MBP) or a Foofbag from foofshop.com (they're made in Melbourne).
