Has someone installed the Windows 7 on Mac as it was possible with earlier versions of Windows?
Are there any limitations and glitches to be expected in installing (and running Windows programs as well) and if yes - what they are?

My Mac laptop has OS X 10.6, 2 Ghz and 4Gb RAM .

Thanks for any tips and personal experience - I need to know what to expect before buying Windows 7 and trying to install it.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is possible, but not on every model of Intel-based Mac. You need Boot Camp 3.1 or better, and some older Macs cannot run it, therefore cannot run Windows 7.

Win 7 will make your Intel Mac run much hotter (at least it does with my 13" MBP and Mac Mini). I use Lubbo's Fan Control

Lubbo's MacBook Pro Fan Control | Download Lubbo's MacBook Pro Fan Control software for free at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/lubbofancontrol/)

To speed up the fan a bit.

If you're a student, you can buy Windows 7 Professional online. You just need your student email (the one with .edu).
