Hello,

I was just on ebay and this article caught my eye,
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/APPLE-BATTERY-FOR-i...1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/APPLE-BATTERY-FOR-iBOOK-GENUINE-ORIGINAL-VERY-RARE_W0QQitemZ5240721819QQcategoryZ80051QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)

i thought you could buy new batteries from apple years back, So for example say your computer iBook was made in 2002 you would still buy a new battery for it from apple?

Either way this add is bull because if he has had it for 1 and a half years wouldn't the battery be dead by now?

Anyways what do you guy think?

Yes the eBay auction is complete BS - you can still purchase such batteries from Apple, iBook ones cost around ~ $200 new. Older 'book batteries are harder to get as not all are available any more from Apple.

Batteries can be stored for years, IIRC if you store them uncharged it's better for the cells.

Looks like crap to me. I seriously doubt a battery that's less than 5 years old is an extremely rare item.

Chances are its probably a nice bit of toxic waste. And yeah, i'm pretty sure you can still get batteries from Apple.

In one of the photos the battery shows 4 green lights indicating 100% charged. If it is "new" why has he charged it? It may be "genuine" but if its a few years old and he has been charging it, maybe using it a little etc, then I'm buying a new one from Apple thanks. Its not like these things have much of a life span as it is.

I think you should check the Apple store for yourself.
