Hi,
I don't know if I'm just having a mind blank or not but I can NOT work out how to import video from my Sony HDR-HC9 HD MiniDV camcorder. I have a new Macbook pro i7 and I just realised it DOESN"T have firewire. Now I know some of you are going to laugh at me because with a quick search of the internet I see EVERYONE else knows. My problem is I can't get my computer to recognise my camera for video in either Final Cut Express 4 or iMovie. I tried USB but it will only import photos. Please help me someone? How do I import video?
thanks

Does the latest Macbook Pro not have a Firewire 800 port? (next to the ethernet?)

from the Apple web site "One FireWire 800 port (up to 800 Mbps)"

You will need a FW800 -> FW400 adapter, and a FW400 6-pin to FW400 4-pin cable. (or you could try get a FW800 -> FW400 4-pin cable.

I do this for my Canon HV30, also firewire, also miniDV

I thought the cable I was using WAS FireWire 800. It worked on my old MBP
