What are your experiences? Do the specialists set up the Ipad for you?

Are Apple Stores the best places to buy?

My experience was very surreal, I was clapped and cheered into the store and then asked if I would mind if I was clapped out of the store.

Very strange stuff!

But I guess it was launch day of the iPad and I was sixth in line at the Chermside store.

Even better at the Bondi store. ;)

But now that the launch is over, it will be a more subdued affair. Stock permitting (and other factors such as price, loyalty, convenience), an Apple Store is still probably the best place to 'experience' purchasing your iPad. As you mentioned, they will assist you to activate and set up the iPad, though naturally you will need to take it home before you can sync all your content (not a bad idea anyway since it can be quite time consuming!).

There is a brand new apple shop in Sydney airport duty free area... Try to buy it since you save GST.

It was a crazy experience at the Doncaster store, ive never had that sort of customer service before. My assistant was more excitied over opening the iPad package than i was, i swear they did some drugs before they opened or something ;)

On contrast i went to Nextbyte Knox the other day for the screen protector when it was quiet and noone would even would even walk up to me, crap service... Ill be going to proper Applestores from now on...

Missing out on the Apple store experience is the only reason I regret sourcing mine from the States before the local release. And I've already got my source for a new gen iPhone when that is released as one of my best mates runs a phone store. Sigh... I might just go in and buy a case lol.

hehe. You haven't been clapped until you walk through the Kool Aid arches at a US store. The staff at the West 14th St store in Manhattan were downright embarrassing themselves! :)
