Heyas,

I am having an issue trying to get crontab to run as it should :- I have the following in roots crontab (accessed via crontab -e)

*/30 * * * * /Library/WebServer/myusage/run.sh

It is tab separated and the command itself works fine when run from the command line. But if left alone (even after a reboot) it will not run as part of cron.

Is this a tiger/10.4 issue or have i bollocksed something up?

afaik this is the format for a crontab

minute hour dom mon dow command

eg (this is my crontab file)

15 * * * * root run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly
30 8 * * * root test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.daily
45 8 * * 7 root test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.weekly
00 9 1 * * root test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.monthly
30 23 * * * root shutdown -hP now

(ignore the user column as this is just the standard crontab).

I don't understand what the */30 is for

I believe that the */30 means every thirty minutes.
