Hi all,
here I have a el-cheapo generic memory stick that stopped working after I was using it with the school PC. The school PCs block the "Safely remove hardware" function for some reason.

So when I finished working I pulled out the memory stick and plugged it back in later the day on my MBP only to find out the school PC corrupted the memory stick, not much of an issue, backed up the files on the stick and launched disk utility to verify the disk.

It then says I need to erase it, so I try to erase it, and after its done it's thinking it tells me the operation cannot be completed because it can't allocate memory.

IS there a way to fix it or should I just bin it and start over?
:confused1: Thanks in advance.

Let's hope they didn't block My Computer -> Right-click "Eject" too :-/

I didn't think it was possible to prevent writing to a flash stick unless you had used up all the rewrite cycles.

Does the USB stick have a physical switch on it to make it read-only?
