Fairfax reports (http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/six-suicides-this-year-by-chinese-iphone-factory-workers-20100513-v1w1.html) that 6 employees at Foxcon Technology had commited suicide so far this year.

Which is tragic and I don't want to cheapen how awful it is. But what is truly awful is the journalists misrepresentation of this.

"...mammoth Shenzhen factory complex, where some 300,000 are employed."

But the suicide rate in China is 13 in every 100,000. Which is terribly high and should be the real story!

So this puts Foxcon below the national average so far this year.

A 5 second google search by the journalist would have shown this. This is cheap, lazy journalism. I'm getting sick of it. It pisses me off.

That's really F*cked, I also hate how the media twist and bend and sensationalize stories to their gain.

The are using these just to hits as it's apple related.

Send to Media watch as an example.
