Reformat it with Disk Utility, located under Utilities folder.

hm... if you want to keep the data on it, then i'd suggest taking it to a windows PC, and networking to your mac to copy the data. Then formatting the drive to Fat32.

If you don't care for the data on it - then format it into hfs+ on your mac and start over.

I'm guessing that "Windows NT" is NTFS - which OS X can't read/write.

depending on what you are using it for depends on the format required. to use it on a windows machine and mac FAT32 (MS-DOS File System) is the go, if mac only hit HFS (Mac OS Extended Journaled)...

In "Disk Utility" /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
Select your drive on the righthand panel
Select Erase and the format you require then the erase on the bottom right.

THIS WILL REMOVE ALL THE CURRENT DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE!

I beleive 10.4 now has NTFS read supported, but still no write.
