Anyone here own a G5?
I haven't seen anyone with a G5 in the Apple product field in their user info.
I can't be the only one can I?:P

Rumor is the 2.6GHz model will be out soon very soon as IBM showed it off and announced successful producation at a microprocessor confrence, and the 3GHz is a certainty before August.

So it might be wise to hang on a little and see what happens with the new 90nm process CPUs.

Until Friday, I had a 1.8ghz G5 (single cpu), but have just sold it. Now am waiting for either a ridiculously low price on a dual g5 1.8/2.0, or for the next rev, which will hopefully be soon.

You are rubbing it in, but that's OK, if you've got it, flaunt it :)

I hope to be able to buy my own G5 when I go to university, but other than that, I don't own one and I don't think I'll need one for several years, right now even my GHz TiBook is often overkill for what I usually do with it ;) (internet, writing, powerpoint etc etc)

i like all in one models GO IMAC G5!

if i were apple i would invest money in developing new chps from new materials and make a imac g5 fit inside the display screens.

I've got a stock Rev A Dual 1.8 PowerMac G5 - got it in June 04 right after they released the updated models.

My sister also just got a stock 17" iMac G5 1.6.

It's all good!

So by September we may be looking at:

3.0 Ghz DP G5
2.6 Ghz DP G5
2.2 Ghz DP G5
2.0 Ghz SP G5

2.0 Ghz iMac 20"
2.0 Ghz iMac 17" SD
1.8 Ghz iMac 17" Combo

I doubt that we'd see 3.0, 2.8, 2.6. Also I can't see a rev to 2.6, 2.4, 2.2, but that is possiblr. I will buy a mid range G5 when the updates come through, to buy now may be a little premature.

I have a Dual G5 Powermac (finally) have had it for a few months now.

I cant see myself needing anything better for a few years. This thing flies with everything i throw at it and is amazing to use. I'm so much more efficient than before and it was worth every penny (or thousand)

Yeah, I've had a dual 2.0 since about a month before the recent price drops which was a nice step up from my G4 450.

I must be the only one here that has an original 1.6 G5 (only about a year old) on the plus side it did come with a 20gig iPod , 512 megs of ram and got 3 year warranty ( edu price ) for free.
I upgraded from an iMac 333

I was going to wait until I had a good setup (still waiting for stuff to arrive from Canada) to show a pix in the setup gallery but I thought I would update my signature and 'share'...

Does having placed an order count?

Sadly it looks like my order will be delayed up to 5 weeks due to a shortage of the 6800 Ultra DDL :-(

:(
