Can I delete Frameworks (from old Mac)? It takes 1,5GB and what is it?
Thank you

Sounds like you have done a Migration from your old Mac to a new model?

You could probably delete it without any problems.

Frameworks are essentially shared libraries that applications link to. If you're writing an application that uses QuickTime, for instance, you link to the QuickTime Framework so that you don't have to include all the code necessary to play movies inside your application.

Deleting the ones currently on your Mac is a bad idea.

If you found them in /System/Library/
Absolutely do not touch them.

If you found them in /Library/
Then some may be installed by a third party, and you might be able to delete them safely. On the other hand, Apple puts some there as well.

The ones from your old Mac you can safely delete. However, you may find some of your applications fail to work. When you reinstall them, you may find the installer has put new frameworks in place for you.
