View Full Version : Bluetooth Gone

I've a 7 month old alu MacBook 2.4Ghz with 4Gb of RAM running OSX 10.6.2.

I was having problems downloading some routes to my Garmin Zumo GPS and needed to restart the Mac to start the process from the beginning. On restart, the bluetooth icon on the menu bar wasn't there. Bluetoth doesn't show in System Preferences and when I checked under more info from the about this Mac window, noting shows when bluetooth is selected other than "no information found".

I'm using MagicPrefs to set up my Magic Mouse and when I opened the preferences, it had an indication that it had crashed.

I had the Bluetooth function on the GPS on, but it was set to connect only to phones.

I've shut the Mac down as well and then rebooted but still no Bluetooth.

I'm guessing something fried or otherwise tripped the Bluetooth hardware.

As is always the case, I'm heading off on the motorcycle on Saturday for a week's trip around Tassie and carry the Mac to upload tracks, points of interest, photos and video on a daily basis.

Any thoughts on what the issue might be and/or how to solve it?

Edit: Turned off and left it for 10 minutes and blue tooth was back and running.
