Looks like Telstra wants in on the soon to be hot iPad action!

I don't think it's very related to the iPad - more like they were *so* far behind everyone else. Unfortunately, Telstra's prepaid is still quite exorbitant - 1GB is only $19 on a Telstra business plan vs. $40 for 1GB on prepaid :(

Vodafone's prepaid 3G is $29 for 2GB.

its only $19 on a 24 month plan, on the business month to month, 1GB is still $39

they love the fact you are locked in so much they halve the price, has both up and downsides for the consumer

It's only $29 for 1GB of data if you're willing to enter a contract for data. You actually get the $10 credit if it's attached to a voice plan.

im talking about the member plan mentioned here (http://www.telstrabusiness.com/business/portal/online/site/productsservices/monthlyplans.44017), which comes without a bundled device, which is what an iPad owner would be wanting

See, for those of us who prefer prepaid, this is a boon. Of course its more expensive than *fill in the blanks here* but it works everywhere I go (unlike Optus, Virgin or Voda... ). And plans, with X year commitments, shouldn't even be compared to the prepaid offers: apples and oranges, ya know?

And I want this (http://www.novatelwireless.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=298:mifi-2372-intelligent-mobile-hotspot-for-hspa-networks-for-north-america&catid=75:mifi&Itemid=622), rather than a USB modem (or a 3G iPad)
