In February last year I started a thread on determining all file sizes on a Mac with multiple user accounts.

See <<http://forums.mactalk.com.au/11/60054-64-gb-missing-my-hd-jungle-where-they.html>>.

There were several informative replies, but none which actually solved the problem, and it is quite a problem, especially if you have several users, as the information in the Finder is completely inconsistent with the information in "Get info" on the computer icon.

Neither DiskInventory X, OmniDisk Sweeper nor What Size would do it.

I recently found this site <<http://theappleblog.com/2007/01/17/how-to-view-the-size-of-every-file-on-your-mac/>>, which explains how to do it by opening What Size from within Terminal.

I found 60GB of space I had not been able to locate in any other way.

Hope this is helpful to others with the same problem.

..and it is quite a problem, especially if you have several users, as the information in the Finder is completely inconsistent with the information in "Get info" on the computer icon...Just out of interest, what is it that causes you problems with this? Is it just that you really want to know where the space is being used, or something else? Not having a go. Just interested.
