Folks,
I am about to give up
Suddenly, out of the blue the time machine started to give me following error

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3647/errori.th.png (http://img138.imageshack.us/i/errori.png/)
"an error occurred while creating a back up folder"

The story so far ...
I have MBP running with 10.6.2 with two external drives attached via FW 800
One is WD and second is Seagate FreeAgent 500GB

The time machine is set to use Seagate which is daisy chained via WD.

The TM starts the back up and first runs OK but few back ups later it will give the above error.

I have reformatted the drive several times, both as Journaled and as a plain HSF+
Same error

I have run repair permissions on my MBP, repair HD from 10.6 install disk
No difference

I have selected and deselected the drive in the TM preferences
No difference

Another interesting observation ... when I attempt to delete a latest back up folder from Seagate drive, I get -50 error

Is it OS? Is it the drive?
Please help.
Andy

I did an experiment ... hooked up a different drive and TM is working without glitches so far.
This would imply that the source of the problem is the external drive.

Just received a note from Seagate that drive was indeed faulty and they are sending out a replacement (under warranty).
Cheers
