iphoto - multiple users

ok,
So I've got my new imac (i7) and kept the wife and kids at bay for a a good 2 days now, but my resistance is wearing thin - so I'll have to let them play too.

I want to setup different profiles for wife and I but allow both users to access the same iphoto/imovie/itunes (but different mail)

Is this possible in anyway more straightforward than creating a new volume or putting my photos on an external drive?

I think you could move your iPhoto library to a shared folder on the iMac, and have iPhoto in both profiles access it from that location. You'd just need to make sure both users access it one at a time (ie make sure it's closed if you use fast user switching) otherwise changes made from one profile may not show in another.

I feel your pain -- this should be much, much easier.
