yeah, I can open time machine whilst in iPhoto, and see the file I want to restore, when I hit restore, TM closes, I got back to iPhoto, the photo isn't there.

nice photo's btw.... :) you shoot advertising/catalogues?

Not trying to make fun of your situation but I couldn't help laugh when you say you have found a bug in iPhoto and the photo you're trying to restore is that of a Praying Mantis :)

On the helpful side: Have you installed the latest iPhoto update? That may be the solution, or indeed, the cause.

I'll try it out when I get home. Are you running Snow Leopard?
