I have a widget in my dashboard that used to give me session times for movies in my area. Now it's a black square that invites me to enter my postcode, then does nothing. Does anyone know what happened to this? Is there a new version? If not, is there another widget that performs the same function?

I've been wondering the same thing. Glad it isn't just me.

Yeah the widget stopped working for me as well. I noticed that the developer of widget has pulled it from his website. Not a good sign. :(

The widget's developer posts on these forums so perhaps we might hear from him.

Yeah, I'd love to see it revived as well.

Or a way to run the iPhone "Now Playing" app in dashboard :)

Any news on the Movies widget?

Apologies to those still using this, but I found that Google's movie service (Movie Showtimes - Google Search (http://www.google.com/movies)) made the widget redundant. They are just too good for me to compete with :)

I may think about reviving the widget at some stage in the future, but probably not in its current form, and most likely using google's movie data.

This is very handy but I wish the font wasn't blurred does your eyes in.

Great as I am forever resurrecting the paper from the bin.

Yes, the fuzzy/blurry font and colour does strain the eyes a bit.

Also a scroll bar would be handy.

Thanks

Umm, the blurry font is meant to be a neon effect, like at a real cinema :)

Scrollbar, just scroll your mouse when you hover over the widget.

The blurry font looks crappy - make it an option or disable it. Ruins an otherwise useful widget.

Strong consensus for normal fonts - and better for those with less-than-perfect vision anyway. Done.

Thank you for the change - that is great now.

I had figured that out, but I thought a scroll bar might be more intuitive.

Thanks

I've just upgraded to Sierra on my MBP and the MOVIE TIMES widget has stopped working for me too. Restarted and downloaded a fresh widget but still just a big black square. :(

Hi, I'm the developer, sorry to hear the widget isn't working on Sierra. My current Mac is a late 2008 MacBook which can't run Sierra, I hope to upgrade to a new machine at some point and then I should be able to update the widget. Sorry this is not an immediate solution.
