Hi all,

The powerpack for my 12" PowerBook has a very high pitched squeel when it is plugged into my PowerBook, it is slightly louder when it is charging rather than just powering my PowerBook. It sounds like an old VGA monitor or an old TV set with station dials on it hehe.

Is this normal?

One other little problem is in summer when its quite hot, and the powerpack is laying on its side on the carpet, it gets hot and will just cut out. Then to get it working again i have to unplug it from the wall socket and plug it back in. Has any one else found that to be a problem? Just starting to get a bit worried about leaving it along when i leave the house.

Matt.

I think capacitors can make that kind of noise under certain circumstances... When they're on their way out I think... I used to know the reason for the noise, but I've forgotten it...
The noise, combined with your second problem leads me to say that the unit is faulty.
