View Full Version : Weirdness - Apple Menu, Black Lines

Hi all,

First strange thing - all of the sudden tonight there are multiple entries in the apple menu (upper left hand corner of the screen). The last six lines of the menu read:

Restart...
Restart
Shut Down...
Shut Down
Log Out Luke...
Log Out Luke

If I click on the entries without the dots after them, the computer just performs the action (ie restarts) without the dialogue box prompting you to confirm your decision. The ones with the dots bring up the dialogue box as per normal.

Also, there is a thick black line that has appeared around things that are selected - icons, scrollbars, buttons, even widgets. I can't find anything in the view options or appearance preferences that have anything to do with this. It is really quite ugly, very unaqua. And sometimes it lingers long after the thing selected is off screen.

It's all a bit odd as I haven't been mucking around with anything that could have brought this on. I'm running 10.4.2 on an imac G4 800 mhz, 768 mb ram.

Any thoughts? All help greatly appreciated.

Luke

Apple+F5 will do the trick. Its voiceover and it really annoyed me for ages :)

It is in System prefs, under Universal access (then the 'Seeing' tab) if you were wondering about itů
