Hey all,

I'm trying to view a video tutorial (on my G4 ibook) but my apparent lack of the correct Quicktime plugin(s) means I only get sound. I've downloaded some plugins from the updates page but they haven't made any difference.
Any advice for this novice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

JH

Give VLC a try. It is an alternative to the Quicktime player, and is renowned for being able to play many things Quicktime cannot.

yep. If it's not a quicktime movie (.mov) then don't use quicktime to play it. VLC or mplayer OSX are both far better (than the free quicktime player at least) and you can even add real media codecs to them.

Umm, correct me if i am wrong, but WINamp is for WINDOWS only. JH is trying to view the file on his G4 iBook, thus why reccomend Winamp? Wake up to yourself!

Winamp? uhhhh 1999 called dude, and they want their software back.

Meanwhile, winamp jokes aside (I'm just messing with you fluffy duck) head to http://videolan.org and grab VLC Media Player, you can't go wrong with it
