Hiya all.

Need some assitence from the brains trust. I use my PowerMac (running InDesign) on a Windows Small Business Server 2003 network. All goes fine, except when I save document's, the extension dissappears (I am putting it in the file name too).

Required as a few PC users need to open the files.

Any idea's why the extensiion goes AWOL? BTW, on the older SBS 200 server, it didn't happen.

Regards all..

Open up Terminal and check if the files have an extension, or if it's just hidden.

You can reveal all file's extensions with Finder -> Preferences
Select the Advanced tab, and tick the box titled "Show all file extensions" (10.4 - may vary on older versions of OS X)

I don't think SBS would have anything to do with missing extensions - it just doesn't make sense.

also i think indesign has an option when you can have the document to hide the file extension (its somewhere in the save dialog box) ;)
