Hi All,

I have had my Macbook Pro for a while now and so I think it is time to start spicing it up.

So I have downloaded this... but how in gods name do I install it??

Presumably you would need to download the DragThing application, not just the theme files. Check here (http://www.dragthing.com/english/download.html) but make sure you backup your system before trying to mod it :)

Part of me understands why Apple has never really offered huge "theme" options on their computers... they (be they Steve, or Gil, or any other Apple CEO) have wanted tight product control. Sure, there has been the Appearance control panel for a few years now... but what does it really offer - colour changes... font sizes...

I remember hearing rumours that Apple was going to offer heaps of new skins for the OS back in... the mid 90's? But it didn't happen - instead though we got 3rd party "Kaleidoscope". This was exactly what I expected Apple to offer...

What is Kaleidoscope? (http://www.kaleidoscope.net/What_is_Kaleidoscope.html)

Ok maybe some of them are OTT... but c'mon Apple... give us glamour. :)

I'm glad that OS X doesn't let us screw about with the colours too much. Back when I was on Win95/Win2000, I had a compulsion to make everything electric orange with yellow writing, or set a tiled tartan background. OS X has helped me overcome this sickness.
