I can't write too much as I'm on the iPhone now, and at work; but this game is brilliant. If you like GTA, here it is. Dual stick control for walking/killing, when in a stolen car tilt steer and pedals on screen but different control options are availible but I prefer the default.

iTunes Store (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=327388183&mt=8)

I've played it a bit more in my lunch break now, done the first couple of missions. You can drive around the city however you like and purchase weapons/health from shops or you can 'order' them from a menu with a shipping fee without having to get to the shop. It's really good, I'll be playing more tonight. Seems to have plenty of content / missions / achievements and replayability from the whole-big-city thing.

Usually when you steal a car, the occupant you throw out trys to hit you if you don't get out of there quickly. They'll punch or shoot sometimes. Rather violent citizens.

Graphics/gameplay really feels very very GTA3 / San Andreas style, down to fonts and in game music tracks on the radio.

It's $7.99 and 175mb, full 3D. You can run over people for cash. Good wholesome fun for the entire family!

The controls are a little dodgy (the 'motion steering' isn't adjustable, and sometimes the 'peddles' stick), but aside from that... wow. Yet another reason for me to never pick up my PSP again.

Quick grab it before Rockstar complains to Apple. ;) Looks like a pretty neat game, thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, I would be pissed if I were Rockstar...

I've not had issues with pedals sticking and steering... the car steering isn't quite as sensitive as I'd like but probably better for those who find tilt controls too twitchy.

Good selection of missions too far, plenty of variation.

I like that although you don't have handbrake, you can drive way too fast, then hit brake and steer hard lock and hit accelerator again and it will slide around a corner like you'd want it to.

Downloaded, very nice!
Although gives me 3GS envy - I had to kick my jailbroken iPhone 3G into Safe Mode just so it had enough memory to play without freezing every 10 seconds, and even then it's kinda jerky in some parts.

This game is actually really good. I'll get the Rockstar one when it comes out as it should have a good story line, but judging by the reviews I'd not be too suprised if Gang$tar is better. Anyone with Gan$tar played Chinatown wars on the DS?

I don't have Gang$star but I do have GTA:CTW on DS. CTW is a different type of game, it's top down rather than 3rd person. I quite liked CTW and reckon it'll suit the iPhone/Touch pretty well. I wonder how they'll price it considering the DS game was $40-$50 and it's supposedly coming to PSP as well.

Top down? Sounds more like Carjack Streets or Payback then. Actually, more GTA1 or GTA2 like. Gang$tar looks and plays like a little GTA3.

Correct. It has kind of a cartoon/cell shaded feel to it.
