After a poor showing with Vista, the tech industry is eagerly anticipating Windows 7. But technology researchers claim to have found a bug in the new operating system that causes a massive memory leak and could cause the company to delay the final release.

Nope, not in the slightest.

And to make matters worse Microsoft have not learnt anything about pricing (http://www.9to5mac.com/snow_leopard_eats_windows_on_price) either.

Nothing unusual. There's always gonna be last minute bugs, and this is by no means a Microsoft-only phenomenon. There is a reason many people steer clear of dot-zero releases.

They haven't learnt much about streamlined product lines either. Would it be that hard to have Windows and Windows Server?

It won't be delayed. They've already released it to TechNet/MSDN etc. I'll be getting my copy this week via MSDNAA.

FWIW, the bug doesn't sound too bad.

Certainly something that could be patched after release.
