I havn't heard of any and I was wondering if they do exist for this type of computer.

I don't have a dock, and i'm not sure if you can get one for a PowerBook or iBook..

I think what I have below is far better than a 'dock'

It is a 15" PB sitting at the perfect height on an awesome Griffin iCurve. I only have two, at worst, three plugs into either side of the Notebook. I have the power cable plugged in, all the USB peripherals (keyboard & mouse, camera, iMic) connect via a Belkin 4-way hub which connects to the PB with one single USB connection, and then the iPod dock connects via FireWire 400 because I find it a faultless reliable connection.

My phone connects via bluetooth, and the web and music connects to the Notebook wirelessly via the Airport card and an Airport Express which connects to my 2.1 speakers - hence, no stereo or LAN cable required..

Why buy a proper dock when you can have this setup for probably less money, and by pulling out two plugs you are on your way and vice-versa when you come back?

There isn't one - in reality, with the new powerbooks you don't need it. Get a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo (doesn't have to be Apple's) and attatch a 20" - 23" etc and bang. just like a docking station, but less wires, less stuffing around...

I haven't used a docking station but I reckon it takes me about 20 seconds max to plug in my ac adaptor and speaker lead: everything else is wireless.

Wouldn't the Bookendz get in the way ? or is it just my messing desk?

Thanks for that all. I like the look of the "BookEndz" dock for the 12inch but it quite bad and takes up heaps of room for the 15inch version. I like Spargo's set up and will see if I can get myself a similar setup!

There are a few 3rd party docking stations in the USA and Japan. I took some photos (http://currawong.net/gallery/Akihabara) of a couple of them in Japan a few years ago, but I'd have no idea if or what was available now.
