Hi

I have bought a new MBP and need to wipe my previous model so I can make it ready for sale.

How can I reformat it by deleting everything and just keeping OSX 10.5.7?
WHat do I need to do?
TIA

Hello amnesia,

Use the CDs you got with the mac to format and reinstall OSX, you can also zero out the drive if you wanted to, using disk utility's on the CD.

Thank you,

If you happen to have private data on your old Mac, its a good idea to Securely erase the old old using 7-Pass Erase ( its an option in Disk Utility > Erase > Security Options) and then install 10.5 once thats done. Its will take some time, but again if you have private data, its a good idea.

7 passes is complete and utter overkill. Just do a single pass overwrite and it'll be perfectly fine.
