View Full Version : Mail.app How to enable POP accounts ?

ive tryed it afew times and it says that it failed to login to the account and keeps asking me for the password and login.

both are correct and verified.

is there a trick or tip to getting them to sync with mail.app ?

i have images of the errors but photobucket is down.

Are you sure your mail server supports POP?

Double-check that you've got the correct account details - server, ports, whether or not you're using SSL and, of course, username and password.

Also, check in your keychain (Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access) that you're not saving some old credentials for the account - if you've got multiple credentials for the account in your keychain, delete them all and re-enter them in Mail.app just to be 100% sure.

It could also be a problem with the mail server - my Optusnet mail server occasionally flips out and tells me that my password is incorrect, even though it isn't and when I try again in a couple of minutes, it works it all out.
