I have an external HD and I want to put my music files on it so I can play them on my Mac and my PC, How can I format it so it can be used on both?

you can use Fat 32 but i would recommend NTFS their is a program called NTFS for MacOSX and i am sure you can find it ;) you can get it from here (http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/) for 29.95us i think

I looked at the site for NTFS for Mac and it lists for Mac OX 7.0. does it wirk with newer versions. I have OX 10

yes it will work fine its just the version of their software

FAT32 is free and NTFS-3G is free too.

I wouldn't pay for Paragon NTFS unless you have a real need for fast access of large, >4GB files.

Honestly, FAT-32 should be fine as long as you don't have any files over 4GB.
