View Full Version : What The Hell Is .rmvb? And How Can I Fix It?

Hey helpful guys,

My firend in England sent me down a CD with a stand up show on it. She told me to watch it, as it's the funniest thing she has seen but the file is in .rmvb format!
Now, granted, i'm new to this sorta stuff, but i've never seen that before. Is there some kind of converter that i can download to change it to something else?
I've tried VLC and Windows Media Player, and niether of them can fix it.

.rmvb is a real media file, I think the vb stands for variable bit-rate, anyway you'll need real player to play the file.

You can get the free version of Real Player for OS X Here (https://order.real.com/pt/order.html?ppath=cpmacpl060204a&country=US&language=EN&opage=realhome&src=021705realhome_1_1_2_1_1_3)

According to this (http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=RMVB) link, it's a RealVideo Variable Bit Rate File.

You'll need Real Player to view it.

Edit: Funkmaster beat me to the answer :P
