View Full Version : How do I get rid of file .DS_Store ??

Hey Guys,

May be a weird question but I run OSX Tiger and it seems every folder contains the file .DS_Store 2 questions?

-What is it??
-How do i get rid of it or make it non visible

Also I cant seem to get rid of "Network" and "Servers" file of the desktop would love to know how to get rid of them to they both show "Zero KB" under the description!

Hi. I'm wondering why the .DS Store files are showing. Normally any file whose name starts with "." is hidden. Do you have a program that includes the preference to "Show invisible files" - a program such as TinkerTool? If so, a similar preference may be there to show the Network on the Desktop.

Alex is right, they should normally be hidden. You can use Show Hide Invisible files (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22318) to hide them easily.
