I'm in the market for a 13"MBP and I found out that it is cheaper to get 6G (2x3G) of RAM from MSY cheaper than an upgrade to 4G from Apple.

It's listed as "6G Kit (3x2G) DDR3 1333 Kingston" for A$126 but it has a speed of 1333 MHz as opposed to Apples 1066MHz. Would it be compatible with the MBP? Will it be faster?

Catalog I found it on:http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

6G Kit (3x2G) DDR3 1333 Kingston

Won't work. That would be full-size(Desktop) DDR3 ram, as opposed to DDR3 SO-DIMM chips that the MBP requires.

You would have to look for 2GB DDR3 Ram under the "A Grade SO-DIMM Notebook DDR/DDR2/DDR3 Memory" heading in that pdf.

Best advice I can give you is to go to Laptop | PC | Computer Memory Upgrades - RamCity (http://www.ramcity.com.au) and choose the model and go from there.

MSY are selling 2Gb DDR3 kingston notebook ram for $49, so you may need to buy 2*2GB Ram not 3*2Gb (6GB Kit). MBP have only two memory slots in it so you can't fit the 3rd one in
