I was looking for a refurb Macbook, but now I have my eye on that entry MBP at $1899 might be a bargain...

thanks for the headsup. no express card slot is a deal breaker for me. even worse than taking a firewire out of macbook because now the macbook pro 13" is really just a macbook and the 15' lost out (9400m as an option? c'mon Apple!)

Maybe I shouldn't have posted this :D

I guess it depends what your after. To me, the SD Slot is irrelevant and the 7 hours battery life is handy, but I wouldnt pay extra for it. I would pay extra for the 9600MGT though.

Yes. I bought one. I think there were 2-3 yesterday morning. Mine is being delivered as I type. Feel like chucking a sickie and going home!

I tried to buy one yesterday, something went wrong with the checkout, adn my order didnt process. I went to buty one 10 mins later, after I checked my email and saw their was no order confirmation, but they had sold out. I called Apple to double-check, and they had no record of the order :(

Then about 1pm yesterday there were more in stock, and I grabbed one! Shipped yesterday, adn being delivered today. Used decryptions affiliate link (http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=936507) so should put some coin toward the upkeep of this great site :)

Note, there is one listed on there just 2 minutes ago if you are still looking to buy!

I just made my PowerBook redundant. Woohoo MBP here I come!

I'd rather ExpressCard slot than SD slot, and I'll never need 7 hours of battery life!
$2149 gets 9600M GT perfect

yep mate,

even the new MBP 15inch with dual Graphic card starts at 3199, so if it comes to refurb it will be around 2699 mark

but we got dual graphic card MBP for 2149, which is THE BEST deal IMO

My thoughts too.

I do use SD in my camera, but I have a Dell monitor with an SD slot, so no benefit really. For me the 9600GT and $550 saving was the better option.

I have a dell monitor with SD slot also. Dont forget to add the "dvi to mini display port" adapter to round it up to $2200.

I wonder how much the 2.53ghz version will sell up to? good luck prospect buyers!

Different Year models. The 2.0 is probably an 07 and the 2.1 is an 08. Id personally go for the 2.0, more ram is worth it :)

Actually the 2.0 looks newer, bus 1066 Mhz.

The refurb prices are based off original RRP, maybe the MacBook was more expensive for the other model back then (hence slightly higher cost).

Eh? Yes I paid for it *shifty eyes*. How else would I have gotten one? 15" refurb, exact same one as I had a week ago (then traded down for a MacBook).

Was happy to bay $2699 a few months ago. Estatic to pay only $2149 this time round. Awesome.

I'm returning mine. Simply don't *need* the larger form factor nor the 9600MGT. Gotta remember to take back my 4GB ram! Hehe...feel like stealing the HDD but that would be wrong (plus I don't have a that special screw).

Back to my unibody 2.0GHz MacBook non-Pro without an inbuilt battery, better screen, faster CPU, and ... SD slot. Poo bum wee.

Pretty sure the 2.4 MBP was mine. Glad to see it was snapped up within 3 hours. There was an awesome 24" iMac as well for $2129 - gone as well.

I really don't see the appeal of the refurb 20" iMacs @ $1700...pricey bastards considering the previous gen sold for the same price but for 24".

There were a heap of mac minis there too.

I suppose the fact that an advertised $1000 off retail price for the 15" MBP makes it a bargain.
