I'm hoping that someone here can help me out with the last thing that my Windows laptop does, but my Macbook does not.

GPS Navigation.

I have a usb gps unit (strictly speaking, a serial gps and usb serial port in one package), and under Windows I use the GPS navigation software from Garmin. Its basicly the same as one of Garmins stand alone incar units.

Does anyone know of any similar software for OSX?

Hi,

Try Garmin Bobcat. It is a free download from Garmin. Also there is MacGPS Pro.

Cheers,
Greg

You CAN use google earth with a bluetooth GPS receiver, for exploration/positioning but it probably wont do the navigation you are after

Would be nice if it worked with google maps!!!!!

Google Maps wouldn't actually be that helpful without an internet connection on the mac
