Just installed one of these puppies into my MBPro 15"

MCE OptiBay Hard Drive for MacBook Pro, MacBook and PowerBook G4 (http://www.mcetech.com/optibay/index.html)

Went for the 500gb HDD. Given that I hardly ever use the optical drive and I already had a USB DVD drive, I figured this option would mean I could ditch the WD portable HDD and carry all my stuff with me.

So now I have the 256gb SSD System drive and 500gb media drive all inside my MBP. I love it.

Nice one. Did it take long to remove the internal superdrive?

Too bad you can't use the Macbook Air's external Superdrive. I read that macs other than the MBA don't provide enough power to run the Superdrive.

Installation was easy.

MacBook Air SuperDrive for all tnkgrl Mobile (http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2008/06/24/macbook-air-superdrive-for-all/)

With a bit of hardware hackery you can, although say goodbye to any warranty.

Nice mod. But sounds like a lot of trouble to do.

Ive been considering one of these
Small SSD for the bot drive, then a 500gb in the optibay
Where did you get yours from and how much was it?

I ordered one of these Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy(p/n OBHD9-SATA-SATA-B) Black, 9.5mm [OBHD9-SATA-SATA-B] - $42.00 : NewmodeUS, Hard Drive Caddys for Notebooks (http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=220) which can be used to replace the superdrive with a standard hdd for extra storage, and is much cheaper than the optibay
Will report back when I get it
