I have restored my Air with timemachine this morning, all seems to be fine, but now when i try to complete a new backup i get the following pop up message (interestingly when i click on the red "i" in the time machine preferences i get a different message saying that the disk cannot be mounted...)

"Time Machine could not be configured. The built-in network interface could not be found"

According to the help on the apple site i should do the following, but the problem is, the file and folder they are pointing at doesnt exist at all!!

From the Finder's Go menu go to this location:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

Copy the file "NetworkInterfaces.plist" to the desktop (to make a precautionary backup).
Delete the file "NetworkInterfaces.plist". Enter administrator name and password if prompted.
Restart your Mac.
Once restarted, reconfigure your the Network and Time Machine preference panes in System Preferences.

Any ideas at all?? or am i off to the genius Bar when i get back from the gold coast (and my bucks weekend) next week!
