View Full Version : Macbook not connecting wifi - 'timeout'

Hi guys,

I bought a white C2D macbook awhile ago on behalf of another guy. After (literally) it spending longer in service centres than with him (and about 5 or so trips, including a logic board replacement and two hard drive replacements), he tells me its not connecting to his home OR work wifi networks anymore, saying 'network timeout' or similar.

It will briefly appear to be connected, then flash the 'timeout' message.

I have it with me here now, and it connected to my network fine. I suspect the problem would be fixed by removing the network (from keychain and system prefs) and then re-connecting so I will instruct him to do that.

However I'd like to be able to tell him why this happened, or whether there's something else at fault.

Checked the router he is connecting to. There can be alot of issues with connecting to wifi. DHCP is always a great one to have issues with.

What Wireless router does he have. There are problems connecting Macbooks to some Drayteks - i specifically have had problems with the 2800.
