Hey All,
I am looking at purchasing an OCZ Vertex Series SATA II 2.5" SSD - 120GB and I was wondering if anyone is running an SSD drive in their Macbook / Macbook Pro.
You may ask why, the answer is because ..... I can ...
Is there a noticeable difference in performance between the standard SATA II laptop (platter) drives and the SSD, by the look of the reviews there is a significant performance increase with the SSD's.

Any tangible / valid real life experiences would be great

Thanks in advance

Do a search and you should find a couple of examples, particularly with OCZ.

I have the Vertex 256. Awesome. No issues and very fast. Do it!

I bit the bullet, got the 120 GB, didn't really want to go ape spending $ 1300 for the 240 GB.
Absolutely amazing the noticeable speed difference, it lighting fast, OSX loads in 8-10 seconds from the time of putting in the userID and password.
Apps load so much faster, if you have the spare cash, worth the investement ...

I just bought a new MBP with 256 SSD. Very happy with it. Quiet and fast. Only noise it makes is when the superdrive starts up when you turn on computer.
