Has anyone ever attempted this and can it be done to old macbbok pro 2.4ghz or lower?

You can overclock MPBs natively under Windows using a software utility, but nothing exists under OS X.

You can also overclock ATi GPUs in Windows, but I'm sure sure if you can on the NVidia models.

It's not safe to do so in either case -- the machine already runs at slightly higher than optimal temperatures, overclocking will just result in a quicker death.

If you want a faster Mac, sell the one you have and buy a new one.
