Hi guys,

A quick message (and hopefully this is ok) to let you know I will be giving away a Nikon D2H body. Head to this link (http://camlaird.blogspot.com/2009/03/nikon-d2h-giveaway.html) to read details on how to win it.

Cheers,

Cam

Hi,

Curious as to why you're switching to Canon? I've been toying with the idea of picking up a D2H or a D2X secondhand just to play with the dark side again...

Smells rather foul to me. If you want to give it away just do it. Why this media spectacle?

EDIT Sorry for being a bit slow, it seems likely that you'll fork in enough advertising dough to make this a profitable "give-away", if you just keep the scheme going for long enough... Do you work for Channel 9 by any chance?

Cheers
Steffen.

Was interested until I saw the Twitter bit. Pass. Pity, could have done some serious advertising on my websites :)

Don't worry about the Twitter bit - do the linking and you are in.

Hey Steffen,

To be honest I am doing it as a bit of a 'social experiment'. I dropped my entire 'normal' advertising budget (Yellow Pages, magazines etc.) and have put that money into advertising my business online (Google ads etc.). My goal is to be at the top of Google's ranks when someone looks for a photographer in my town (of course being at the top for Queensland or even Australia would be even better! :D)

Making money off advertising didn't even enter my mind, (come to think of it I should and will get rid of ads off my blog) - I am a Canon shooter now and have no use for the camera. Head to my website to see my work (Cameron Laird - PHOTOGRAPHER | Townsville Queensland Australia |- powered by SmugMug (http://www.cameronlaird.com)) and my blog (Cameron Laird - PHOTOGRAPHER (http://blog.cameronlaird.com)) to see exactly why I am giving the camera away as well as pics of the camera.

No, I don't work for Ch9 - I am a photographer :)

Hi,

I shoot a lot of sport/editorial/news and when the Aussie dollar was up at about AUS$0.98 to the US$ I jumped at the chance to switch back to Canon after 8 years on Nikon. Nikon was great while I used them (D1, D1h, D1x, D2h, D2x) but Canon was just stronger a couple of years ago and it seemed like the perfect time to switch.

The D3 has leveled the field though however I don't regret the change - I prefer the Canon lenses so I am a happy camper! :)

Thanks for your question!

I have removed all ads from my blog now, I am using Safari (beta) with an adblocker, can you confirm all the ads are gone? (link (http://blog.cameronlaird.com))

Cheers!
