Hey Guys,

Just wondering what the retail price of this model was for Australia as at Jan 28th?

I remember it being $4,499.

Was it ever $3,799?

My insurance is only covering $3,799 for a new laptop (I want to upgrade to the unibody mac) because the model they were going to replace for me (as at 28 Jan) retailed for $3,799. They say they can get it still for this price, but I distinctly remember it being $4,499, but I do think it was at one point $3,799 (before the Australian dollar went down hill)

Thanks!

The 17" has been $4499 since 15th October 2008, and was $3799 between 26th February and 15th October 2008. Before that it was $3999.

What January 28th was it? This year it was $4499, last year it was $3999.

January 28th this year, so it would have been $4,499.

Thanks for your help!

Is there anywhere I can get this info? (apples website for example)

I need to show my insurance company so hopefully they cover $4,499 which would result in the new macbook pro being $0 upgrade!

I used Apple's PR library and looked at the press releases for every product update. Apple has never changed the price of a product without an update (at least recently) so all prices stay the same between updates, each of which has a press release.

Relevant releases:

Prices are usually towards the end.
